Waterproof Golf Clothing
We offer a great selection of waterproof golf clothing and waterproof golf shoes to protect you from the elements when the weather takes a turn for the worse. Having that extra protective layer helps to keep your clothes underneath dry, allowing you to concentrate on your game instead of being hampered by damp, heavy clothes that aren’t designed for wet weather conditions. We stock all types of waterproof golf clothing including jackets, trousers, and suits. Our roster of waterproof clothing includes garments for one end of the scale by offering a premium polyester outer lining and a Gore-Tex inner lining in order to provide full waterproof protection while also offering lesser shielding but at a fraction of the price.
Jackets - Waterproof golf jackets protect a player's upper body and offer full protection from the elements. Not only are they 100% rainproof, but most are also windproof, whilst being designed to keep your body warm through the use of breathable materials. We stock a range of ladies and men's waterproof jackets, with most golfers choosing to get a size larger than their usual choice so that it fits over your base layers, and doesn’t negatively impact the swing.
Trousers - Waterproof trousers are generally worn over a pair of regular golf trousers to keep them dry in wet weather conditions, but can also be worn without the layer beneath. Similarly to jackets, golfers sometimes prefer for the sizing to be generous so they fit comfortably over the trousers worn underneath, allowing for increased breathability around the legs and fewer restrictions when moving around the course.
Suits - Waterproof suits consist of a jacket and trousers in a matching style. When buying a suit rather than the items separately, the restriction is that you have to buy the jacket and trousers in the same size. On the other hand, it can be a more cost-effective option if you wear the same size on your upper and lower body, and will provide full body protection when you take to the course.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the most popular waterproof clothing brands?
The most popular brand for waterproof golf clothing is Galvin Green, which is popular amongst professionals and amateur golfers. However, the majority of their garments are priced at the premium end of the market, meaning they may not suit every golfer's requirements. There are great alternatives from brands such as PING, Stromberg, FootJoy, and Benross.
Do you wear trousers under golf waterproofs?
Whether you choose to wear trousers under your waterproofs is down to personal preference. Some golfers choose to wear them with no base layer or ‘regular’ golf trousers underneath, and others like to wear a base layer, especially if they’re planning on visiting the clubhouse after completing the round. If the weather is temperamental, as it often is in the UK, we would recommend wearing trousers underneath your waterproofs, so you can remove the outer-protective layer if you need to do so.
Why do golf jackets have no hoods?
Golf jackets don’t have hoods because they can hamper your game in a few different ways, the first of which being they can obscure your peripheral vision. By having your hood up, you’re also hampering your fluidity of movement in your shoulders, neck, chest, and head, so you could struggle to hit a good shot. Instead, many players opt for golf caps and visors as they don’t hinder your vision, and on really rainy days you can use a golf umbrella.
